Festival Dates 2017:

Spectra Festival of Light!
9 – 12th FebruaryThe first festival in the line up of the Aberdeen Festivals – Celebrating the 2017 ‘Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology’ Aberdeen City Council, in partnership with Curated Place welcomes you to explore Aberdeen’s past though this year’s theme “A New Light”.A spectacular show awaits, from flaming metal sculptures here in Union Terrace Gardens, glowing spiders taking over the graveyard of St Nicholas’ Kirk, to Marischal College being transformed into a huge musical instrument complete with laser light show. Giant talking heads and live music over on the St Nicholas’ roof top garden will celebrate Aberdeen through story and song, and a constantly evolving artwork created by you, this year’s festival of light promises to be a truly interactive, inspiring and innovative.

Fundraising Concert

Our Fundraising Concert will be at Queen’s Cross Church on Friday 10th March at 7.30pm Come along and bring your friends! Tickets are available here! or to buy from 17 Belmont Street, Aberdeen.

Hosted by our one and only Festival Manager, Amanda MacLeod, who will take you through our featured performances:

Taking part in Aberdeen International Youth Festival is both rewarding and memorable. We welcome applications from solo performers as well as groups from around the world, who are keen to be part of this creative and enriching event.

Roundhouse Choir are one of the most exciting and energetic young choirs in London having performed at major venues including the Southbank centre, The Royal Albert Hall and of course the Roundhouse.

Jamaican Youth Theatre:

Jamaica Youth Theatre (JYT) specializes in bringing classic West Indian plays to the Jamaican stage in a professional and entertaining way and yet still time to create cutting edge popular theatre targeting young people as a means of social change. Our commitment is to use Jamaican indigenous forms and popular culture to engage our audience.

Encore’s Rock and Roll American Circus:

This High school team hailing from California combines live music, dance, acting & circus into entertaining stories with a rock and roll base!

The Aberdeen Jazz Festival is one of the city’s top music festivals, presenting an exciting programme of UK exclusives, international stars, new collaborations, old favourites, and the special atmosphere of Jazz on the Green!
Building on the huge success of 2016, when audience numbers increased by over 40%. There will be a headline concert at His Majesty’s Theatre, and concerts at Queens Cross Church, The Lemon Tree, The Blue Lamp, and Carmelite, as well as the multiple stage city centre event, Jazz On The Green.
