Mitchell School of Drama is based in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire and aims to cultivate an interest in theatre and drama by providing classes for a wide range of abilities and the opportunity to appear in a variety of stage productions. Many past performers from the school have gone on to study drama full time and are now working as actors, directors and in television. MSD have taken part in AIYF every year since 2006, and have brought original productions of Shakespeare’s texts as well as devised productions in Doric, which have entertained audiences of all ages. The company continue to use original arrangements of music throughout their productions, giving them a style that is accessible, entertaining and always full of drama. They return this year with a unique adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays, A Midsummer Night’s Dream which has a strong televisual element, asking whether we can ever differentiate between reality and illusion.
