The
MacRobert Hall, 5th, 7th and 9th August 2004.
After its inaugural production of Cosi fan tutte in 2000, and
Don Giovanni in 2002, Opera Garden continues to explore the work
of Mozart at this years festival with The Magic Flute.
In his final work for the stage, Mozart again delves into the complexities
of human relationships, and here explores with great insight the nature
of love platonic, romantic, physical, maternal, paternal, and
fraternal.
By turns adventure story, love story, and burlesque comedy, The Magic
Flute is an exciting and moving fable. It inspired Mozart to write some
of his most beautiful music, and has long been a delight to audiences
young and old alike.
