The
MacRobert Hall, 4th, 7th and 9th August 2005.
Building on the success of the Festival's previous opera productions,
we present Verdi's amusing tale of a loveable rogue. Falstaff is an
ingenious situation comedy, wonderfully amusing, masterfully constructed
and insightful from one of the greatest composer - librettist collaborations
ever.
The famous final fugue offers the motto: "tutto nel mondo è
burla, l'uomo è nato burlone
" - Life is full of laughter;
we are born to laugh - at each other, and at ourselves!
